Amulya Avanthsa began her journey with Bharatanatyam at the age of eight under the guidance of Smt. Gayatri Sriram and her Parama Guru, Karnataka Kalashree Smt. Minal Prabhu. She has been a student at Shruthi Laya School of Dance in Singapore for the last 9 years. She has participated in numerous performances and competitions, such as temple performances like Vasantha Utsavam and a Kumbhabhishekam, Shruthi Laya’s production Ramakatha and an annual day performance. She has also performed in a group in Bangalore, in a collaborative performance between Shruthi Laya and Mudrika Foundation, from performing in a group and winning two first prize awards in the Dance Planet Competition Singapore and the prestigious Papanasam Sivan Competition Singapore to winning two first prize awards as a solo in the Papanasam Sivan Competition. Along with the opportunities to continue performing during the trying times of 2020, she participated in the online International dance competition conducted by ISKCON, winning third place amongst performers across India. She completed her Arangetram in the summer of 2024 and will continue her dance journey in the US.

Now living in Singapore, Amulya has always had a deep connection with the arts and will be attending Parsons School of Design, The New School in New York City to further her artistic studies and pursue her interests in Indian heritage and historical forms of art.
