Ananya Avanthsa started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 6 at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka. After moving to Singapore, she continued her learning and completed her arangetram in the summer of 2013 under the tutelage of Kalakshetra Alumnus Guru Smt. Sitaravamma Sandrashekaran and Late Sri Bhagavatula Sitarama Sharma of Kalapeetham Singapore. She is currently a student of Smt. Gayatri Sriram of Shrutilaya School of Dance Singapore and Kalakshetra Alumnus Smt. Minal Prabhu of Mudrika Foundation Bengaluru. Ananya has been a student of Shrutilaya School of Dance in Singapore for the last 9 years. Throughout her tutelage at Shrutilaya, Ananya has performed in several different performances such as Shrutilaya’s production of “Ram Katha”, Ananya Samarpana 2022 at Seva Sadan, Bengaluru, and also in various temple platforms. She also performed for the Krishna Janmashtami special, International Bhagavata Utsav Online Festival, Rasika Ranjani Sabha in Chennai, and most recently had her solo production performance named “Shakti” in Singapore.

During her undergraduate years at UBC Vancouver, Ananya was part of the competitive Indian Dance Fusion team Junoon. She pursued her Master in International Affairs at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore and is currently pursuing her MBA in Business Analytics at the University of San Francisco.
