
Tanvi Bhaskar has been a student of Bharatanatyam in Singapore under the tutelage of Guru Gayatri Sriram for the past 20 years. She is also blessed to have learnt from Guru Minal Prabhu through many workshops and master classes.
She started her dance journey at the age of 6 and has been part of numerous solo and group productions both in Singapore and abroad such as -Uttara, -Mokshamudra, -Ramkatha and -The Tango Project to name a few. She was the recipient of the ‘Lakshmi Vishwanathan Award for Abhinaya’ from the Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai in 2012.
She presented her first solo production Uttara in the Ananya Samarpana festival of 2013.
In 2018, she was selected to take part in the choreographer’s festival organised by Nachmo in New York. Her Bharatanayam piece was selected to be performed in the final showcase. During the last year of virtual performances, she was featured on the Indian International Dance Festical (IIDF) in 2021. She also competed in and won first place at the ICMDA Competition in the Open Category.
During her undergraduate years in Columbia University in New York, she was also actively involved in competitive Bhangra and was part of the college team.
She currently lives in New York where she just completed her MBA from the Columbia Business School and is working in media-tech.
